چکیده
Introduction Composting is a highly effective method for managing the growing quantity of agricultural waste, promoting nutrient recycling, and advancing sustainable agriculture. However, significant amounts volatile inorganic compounds (VICs) organic (VOCs) generated during composting process cannot be ignored due to their serious ecological environmental hazards detrimental impact on human health. The types pathways VICs VOCs produced remain not well understood. Methods In this study, we investigated chicken manure straw using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS). We performed qualitative quantitative analyses in emissions gases correlation with odor. Results Our results showed that 44 were detected composting, including 4 oxidation-containing compounds, 2 sulfur-containing organics, 5 alkanes, 19 halogenated 14 aromatic compounds. Aromatic found main component VOCs, accounting 59.14% total content. highest VOC content was pre-composting period, emitting p-Isopropyl Toluene, which reached 7870.50 μg/m 3 . identified eight substances correlated odor concentration ( p < 0.01) are odor-causing need monitored controlled. Discussion study provides important insights into transformation process. It highlights proper management practices control reduce impact.

Composting Unamended Chicken Manure
Normally, manures are composted with amendments. However, a large commercial egg producer in Ohio i s composting unamended chicken manure. Studies were done to characterize this composting, both in situ and in pilot-scale vessels. While overly wet material can hamper initial operation, the general progression dries the material and produces a granular output that is below 20 percent (wet basis)...

متن کاملMicrowave plasma conversion of volatile organic compounds.
A microwave-induced, steam/Ar/O2, plasma "torch" was operated at atmospheric pressure to determine the feasibility of destroying volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of concern. The plasma process can be coupled with adsorbent technology by providing steam as the fluid carrier for desorbing the VOCs from an adsorbent. Hence, N2 can be excluded by using a relatively inexpensive carrier gas, and the...

Emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) produced during composting of different organic wastes (source-selected organic fraction of municipal solid wastes (OFMSW), raw sludge (RS) and anaerobically digested wastewater sludge (ADS) and animal by-products (AP)) and its subsequent biofiltration have been studied. Composting was performed in a laboratory scale composting plant (30l) and the e...
